Why Having a Website is a Must for Business Success November 13, 2015
Does your business have an online presence? Many people think that if their business is not an online-based or an e-commerce business, there is no need to have a website.
While your business may not directly be impacted by online sales, it is the online presence that is important and will draw in customers. If you are an individual freelancer or cosmetologist looking for clients, having an internet presence is extremely important to make people aware of your services. Discovery posted on their blog that “the United Nations expects that 3.2 billion people around the globe will be active Internet users by the end of 2015, according to a new report from the International Telecommunication Union.” From these stats, you can understand the potential reach you could have from having an online presence.
The first thing people do who are interested in your type of service or product is to take their phone out of their pocket and type in their Google browser a keyword for the product or service. If your business does not have a website, potential sales could be lost. Also, I stress the importance of websites in order to stay up-to-date with your competitors. If your competitors have a website and you do not, they are more likely to be spotted and contacted.
You may think that if you have social media accounts that a website is not necessary. While having a social media presence is definitely beneficial, it is not nearly as professional and respected as a website. When a user visits a business website, they know that they are getting accurate information and are not bothered by the continuous notifications and messages popping up on their screen. Social media also limits the branding of your business. By having a website, you are able to incorporate your brand and show potential customers the look and feel of your business.
Having a website can help your business reach people around the globe and in your community.0
